Robin Berry is an artist from nyc, born and raised. he was raised by his loving parents in yorkville, manhattan. at an early age he developed a desire to draw- attempting to mimic the characters of the cartoons, comic books, video games, and multitudes of other magnificent creations around him that he was inspired by.

 

He attended laguardia performing arts high school, where- although he did not attend for visual art- his desire to draw was nourished. The creativity, talent,  and devotion to the arts exhibited by the students,  community and faculty of laguardia high school shaped Robin as it has countless other young artists.

​Robin Berry is blessed to have artistic blood.  His father, Donald Hamilton Berry was an actor,  carpenter and brilliant artist.  Robin was influenced in an immeasurably positive way by his father. A kind and strong role model of a good man, an up close example of a passionate artist, And an undying support for Robin throughout his life. 

 

My philosophy on originality is that NO ONE can truly claim to be original. When someone comes up with an idea for ANYTHING-it doesn't come without influence. So much of what comes out of us, has everything to do with what we absorb into us. This rings true for me and my art. All the artists I've admired and respected, all The marvelous buildings of nyc. the cartoons I've watched, the graffiti and murals I've stood in awe of, the comics I've read, all the movies I've seen, books read (cover art enjoyed), all the architecture, culture, and artistic expression i've been lucky enough to witness - shows up in my work in one way or another.
